The River House Wedding & Event Venue | Montana Wedding Venue

The River House is a rustic boutique venue in the wilds of Montana!

The River House started as a homestead in 1925. Located in Condon, MT it’s nestled between the Swan and Mission Mountains. The venue has the Swan River and Glacier Creek where the confluence represents two becoming one.
The log cabin and outbuildings have been renovated to provide purpose and ambience. With a touch of Montana flair all buildings are decorated with Turkish carpets and chandeliers. Original stone and beams come from the land of which they stand on.
The venue sits on 20 acres over 3 tiers of land. There are ceremony sites by the river or in the forest all backdropped by majestic mountain peaks.
The first tier is where the four buildings sit creating a u with a stage in the middle. The main cabin houses 8 and provides a bride and her party a beautiful dressing area with a fireplace. The Confluence Cabin is for more intimate gatherings such a western chapel. The Gathering Space is used for the groom and groomsmen as a dressing room then a game room or after party gathering. Finally there is the Bar Barn a renovated barn complete with stalls used as booths with a Montana dive bar appeal. The 2nd tier is a large grassy meadow for tents, eating and dancing. The 3rd tier is the river, forest and confluence.
The Swan Valley where The River House is located is one of the most pristine ecological areas in the world. The valley is the heart of the Crown of the Continent, situated between the Bob Marshall and the Mission Mountain Wilderness with over 3000 lakes.
The River House offers an authentic and unique experience in the mountains of Montana while allowing individuality so you can experience the wedding of your dreams. It’s a place where love lingers and stays.

Fun facts

How did the venue become a wedding venue?

As the owners we have long looked for a beautiful place to share with others. My husband grew up on a dude ranch in the Beartooth Mtns. in Montana so he has the knowledge and experience to operate an efficient venue. My background is counseling so I love working with people to help them create their visions particularly their wedding day!

What is your favorite part about a wedding?

We value witnessing love between couples, their friends and family. Helping others to experience joy in a beautiful place showcases the best of life! Getting married is a pivotal and transformational time and it deserves wonder, excitement and bliss. When we can help deliver that experience it becomes one of the best jobs ever.

Additional Information

The homestead has had a long history. For a time it was uninhabitated by people but not everyone. There was evidence of a grizzly bear taking up residence in the exposed basement! So The River House has The Bear Spirit which symbolizes strength, protection, loyalty, balance and sensitivity. Those are qualities of which you can find in a successful and loving marriage.
