How did the venue become a wedding venue?

When the Rotunda at The M was first designed, it was intended to be a waiting area for patients visiting the medical offices in the space. However, as the space took shape during reconstruction, owner and designer Diane McGinley realized it needed to be shared with more people and Events at The M started. Its unique dome structure houses a one-of-a-kind chandelier adorned with over 1,500 crystals, and she envisioned brides and grooms sharing their first dance beneath it. Using inspiration from the original design of the space from 1964, McGinley added innovative lighting and modern furnishings. The floor is adorned with gold flecks and a geometric pattern. The fountains were added to frame a stage. As an active philanthropist, she also saw an opportunity for nonprofits to utilize the space for fundraisers and conferences. Events of all kids are celebrated in the space and thousands have come to enjoy it.
