Our newest site, Paradise, is accessible via ski lift! Purgatory Resort is located in the heart of the breathtaking San Juan Mountains, just north of Durango, CO, along the famous Million Dollar Highway. Our wedding experts will help you create an event that is uniquely yours. The organization was key because all of our guests had to be shuttled back and forth between the ceremony and reception, and it went smooth. We had our ceremony at Boyce, which is gorgeous and our reception in the festival tent. Some advice to couples in the tent: Make sure you invest in lighting! Did you know?
Our newest ceremony site, Paradise, is set in the middle of a popular trail where skiers always stop to take photos of the spectacular scenery. Guests are able to experience this amazing view, as well as the Chair Lift Ride!
What is your favorite part about a wedding?
My favorite part of a wedding is right after the couple has finished their ceremony and is walking back down the aisle. You can see the love, joy, and relief on their faces. It is very sweet to witness!

All ceremony sites are outdoors, so are limited to dates between mid-June and mid-October. There are (4) ceremony sites to choose from, as well as multiple reception venues. Purgatory Resort is also a Property Manager, with many convenient units on-site from Studios to 5-bedroom units available for guests. Summer activities (daily from mid-June to mid-August, then weekends only through September) make Purgatory a fun destination for all ages.
