“Jordan and Troy are college sweethearts. On their 7th anniversary trip, Troy proposed at the beautiful Sparkling Hill Resort on a balcony overlooking Okanagan Lake as the sun set. The East Kootenays are a special place to us since Jordan grew up there and it is frequently visited by the couple. St Eugene was the perfect backdrop with the canopy of trees in the courtyard and charming stone building. Jordan had a vision for the reception to have the perfect ambiance with a heavy presence of candles, 600 vases to be exact. We wanted a traditional wedding with some untraditional choices, like having Troy’s college roommate officiate the ceremony and opting for a tower of cinnamon buns instead of a cake. Lots of small details were brought into this day to incorporate the couples lives, an example of this was custom cocktail hour napkins with Cedar & Oakley on them, the couples ‘fur babies’. Ultimately one of the most exciting parts of the wedding was having all of our closest family and friends in one place and St Eugene was the perfect landing spot for that.”
