“Originally from South Louisiana, Jason and I moved to the High Rockies of Colorado in 2020. Our inspiration for our wedding day was to really give our guests an experience, and fully highlight the beauty of summer in the mountains of Colorado. Beano’s Cabin was the perfect fit. Especially for our food-loving Louisianian guests! With wildflowers in full bloom, I wanted everything filled with color, joy, and love. As a graphic designer and former wedding stationer, I was very passionate on creating all of our custom details. On our invitation, I hand drew every flower on the blind embossed border to simulate the flowers of our wedding day that Lace and Lilies would be creating. I added meaningful details of a hummingbird to represent my late grandmother, and a butterfly for Jason’s late step father. Our logo was highlighted on napkins, coasters, and menus. I digitally painted our signature drink sign to include our dog and two cats. We also included our dog, Charlie, on a custom napkin I designed tying in our first dance song. “If the bones are good, the rest don’t matter”. Our seating chart I designed and Jason willingly built from scratch. Other little details we created together were our fringe photo backdrop, and acrylic name tassels to go on drink glasses so guests could find their seats. After 8 years of waiting to celebrate this day, our ceremony was full of tears and laughter! Inside, Beano’s Cabin glowed with sunlight coming through the beautiful glass windows and onto the head tablescape that was cascading with flowers. We walked into our reception with a choreographed first dance to wow our guests and filled the room with excitement and cheers. The evening continued with incredible food, drinks, and service by the Beano’s staff. We then got the dancefloor started with a traditional New Orleans “Second Line” of the bride and groom with umbrellas, followed by our guests waving napkins in the air. Both our ceremony and reception concluded with pompom exits to tie in our way of meeting eachother, college cheerleading! It was the best day ever, and we really don’t have one thing we’d change. My biggest advice for couples is to trust your vendors and invest in what is important to you. What will be the biggest wow factor and time spent there to enjoy it? For me, that was the flowers inside the reception. And of course, I couldn’t imagine my day with all of our custom details that felt truly like us. DIY and support local artists. To me, the details do matter and were such fun little touches to make our day unique!”
