“Our winter wedding was inspired by the elegance of simplicity. Sun Valley, Idaho set a timeless, snowy backdrop for the entirety of the wedding weekend. Bringing in colors from my late Grandmother’s vintage dishes and jewelry was essential in ensuring that she was a part of the big day. Keeping the color palette to only accents of vintage blue and creamy whites encouraged the natural woods in the architecture of our venues to be highlighted. Minimalism in the decor created space for sentimental pieces to shine. In lieu of an in memoriam table, we wanted to create a reminiscent display that included our guests and our late family members in a special way. Old photographs of mine and my husband’s family at their weddings were displayed at our reception, accented with candle votives. Our intimate wedding allowed for family members to feel more comfortable than they would in a large environment. This allotted for bold dance moves and a level of warmth that I do not think would otherwise have been achieved. As the bride, I was able to give loving and focused attention to every guest, creating permanent memories that with a large crowd, would be nothing but a blur. Our florist, Thistle & Sage, were able to track down peonies & hydrangeas from Israel in the middle of winter to accomplish my dream of having peonies in my floral bouquet (very Blair Waldorf of me, no?). The classic style of the Sun Valley Club created a blank space for the details of our wedding decor to shine. And lastly, our photographer, Bernadette Madden with Bramble & Vine, captured the details of the day that otherwise would have gone amiss. Her brilliant style of photography gave us alluring photographs that will last in relevancy throughout time.”
