Kord + Jenny
“Kord and I met in September 2015 in Lethbridge, Alberta while I was attending the University and Kord was playing Hockey for the Lethbridge Hurricanes. The story I tell my family is that we met at a university party (which isn’t completely untrue). The true story is we started talking on Tinder but coincidentally bumped into each other at a university party. Funny enough, the first thing he said to me was “Hi, my name is Dan”. I instantly called his bluff as I knew he was the guy I had been talking to on Tinder. From then on I knew I wanted to spend more time with Kord, as he seemed like a lot of fun. Six years later, Kord and I booked a special trip to Kauai, Hawaii in January 2022 with another couple. This trip was so special as it hold a lot of meaning for my family and me. Unknown to me, Kord had coordinated with our friends to pop the question on the trip. Planning ahead, he gave the ring to my friend because he knew I would be doing all the packing. One morning, at 6 am, we went for a run and hiked up a cliff to my favorite spot in Kauai. He knew after that morning that was where he wanted to propose. The next day, we made a plan to get up early and watch the sunrise from the cliff ad brought our friends this time. While we were at the beach, about to walk up to the cliff I saw someone proposing. At that moment I let out a sigh and said “that is my dream proposal”. Little did I know that as soon as we got up the cliff, Kord would get down on one knee and ask me to marry him. With three years of long-distance and numerous trips to watch him play hockey in different cities, we thought it was only fitting that we go back to where it all started. We will be getting married on September 1st, 2023 in Lethbridge, Alberta at the Norland Center and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.”
