A black and white wedding doesn’t have to equal “dark and moody” or “edgy” if you don’t want it to.  In fact, a lot of black and white style aspects are chic, formal, and end up looking like a glamorous, more traditional affair.  We’ve compiled some photos of our favorite ways you can accentuate a black and white color scheme on your wedding day.  Keep reading for some neutral inspo – from the decor to the dressing up – that you can use the create the ultimate chic celebration!

Stationery & Signage

Classic and classy stationery and signage can be the perfect pop of detail to emphasize a black and white color scheme.  This can show itself in so many different vibes, as pictured below.

Black Heels

Complement a sleek white wedding gown with a pair of classy black heels.  This little peak of black under your dress and in detail photos will add an element of glamour to your whole wedding day design.  A few of our fav black heels for a wedding look are pictured and linked below!

Cake

Make a B&W statement with a statement-piece of a cake!  A simple, traditional white cake would look great with a black and white wedding theme, but if you want to have fun with it, opt for a more artistic cake like this one from Bake My Day in Calgary!

Bridesmaid Outfits

Everyone looks good in black, so why not let your bridesmaids wear something they’ll feel good in?!  A long black gown (or suit!) instantly makes an event look high-class, and the color contrast will make you and your gown stand out even more when you’re next to your girls! All eyes will have to be on you, bride!

Table Setting

Flatware, silverware, and linens can all be ways you can incorporate black into the “black and white” of your wedding design.

Getaway Dress

Everyone needs a good “little black dress”, and you could leave your wedding in style in yours.   Do your cake cutting or grand exit in a  statement mini dress opposite the color of your daytime gown – a couple of our favorites, depending on your style, are picturing and linked below!

Espresso & Chocolate

A black and white event could have espresso martinis and little chocolate treats to emphasize the classy theme and color scheme!

Suits

The grooms can get in on the theme, too!  A black and white tux is always a stylish showstopper. Or if you and your boo are both wearing suits, one can wear a white and one can wear a black to get both colors in your scheme!

Flowers

Anemones are the ultimate flower for a black and white color scheme when you aren’t wanting to go too “dark and moody”.  The white flowers with a black center look good with so many other flowers, too!
