“Our proposal unfolded during a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Japan, on the island of Miyajima. After days of wandering through temples and sightseeing all over Japan, we arrived at the iconic floating Torii Shrine built centuries ago by an emperor for his daughters, a symbol of love that endures every tide. Nic asked me to marry him, creating a moment that felt suspended in time. The ancient gate stood behind them like a blessing over their future. It was a proposal that reflected the belief that just as the Torii has stood strong for generations, so too could our love. Our biggest piece of advice when planning your special day is to hire vendors you connect with, not just aesthetically, but personally as well. Our day was made so memorable thanks to our incredible team, from the beautiful flowers to the live string music and our talented wedding guest painter. But one vendor in particular touched our hearts in an unforgettable way. Our hairstylist, Bree, not only created stunning hairstyles for everyone, but she also made a deeply meaningful gesture. Knowing that my dad couldn’t be there due to his ALS diagnosis, she donated all the money we paid her for hair services to the ALS Foundation. Along with the donation, she gave me the sweetest note letting me know she was thinking of my family and I. It’s vendors like Bree, those who put their heart and soul into their work, that truly make all the difference on your wedding day.”
