“Joanne and Joyee came all the way from Hong Kong for their intimate wedding in Banff National Park. Joanne had visited the Canadian Rockies with her family back in the summer of 2019 and wanted nothing more than to show Joyee the magic of this place and bring their families together to celebrate their love. When planning an intimate wedding outdoors, you have to roll with what the weather gives you on the day. Leading up to their elopement day, we could see a lot of rain in the forecast. We were hoping it would clear, but it eventually became apparent that we would have to shift things around to make sure that the epic adventure that these two had planned could still go ahead. We were able to coordinate with all the vendors to shift things around so that they could still have their outdoor lakeside ceremony. The helicopter company even rescheduled their flight for the following day so we could make sure we could reach the epic mountain-top locations of their dreams. This meant that their one day intimate wedding turned into a multiday adventure. The day itself could not have been more perfect. Joanne and Joyee spent the morning getting ready in their cozy cabin with the fire on and a record playing in the background. We all made our way to the lake, where their friends and family gathered to watch them say ‘I DO!’ Afterwards, we made the most of a beautiful day by having a picnic on the shore and cutting their wildflower wedding cake! The adventure ended with a scenic helicopter flight high above the Rockies, where we soared over glaciers and alpine meadows, stopping to take photos in remote locations along the way. If you are thinking of eloping or having an intimate wedding in the mountains, this is the way to do it!”
