Sophia and Noam’s relationship began after a Phish concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City, when the two met up at a local bar after the show. At first they were surrounded by mutual friends and other concert-goers, but after hours of talking and laughing, the bar had emptied out, leaving just the soon-to-be-couple sitting on old wooden stools at the bar. As they locked eyes, they knew there was something special between them. Over the next two years, Noam and Sophia built a relationship on their shared love of music, food and the outdoors. They went on ski vacations, ate exotic foods in foreign countries, and danced together at an impressive number of shows. By the middle of 2020, life in the big city was weighing on the two, and they were ready for their next adventure. They decided to book a six-month rental in Whitefish, MT, so they could realize their dreams of spending a winter living in a ski town. In October 2020, two days before they were set to board a plane to Montana, Noam got down on one knee and proposed to Sophia, as Phish played over a speaker in the rose-filled room. A whirlwind 48-hours later, the pair made their way to Whitefish, and quickly fell in love with the small mountain town. Within a few months, Noam and Sophia had decided that they wanted Whitefish to be their forever home. They also knew that they wanted to share the beauty of the Flathead Valley with their family and friends, and decided that their wedding would take place in Montana. The couple were married at
Glacier Outdoor Center on August 16, 2021, standing under a chuppah built by the groom using reclaimed barn wood and overlooking the peaks of Glacier National Park.
