Emily + Mark
Many times, it is difficult to keep a secret from your partner. I, for one, have a very hard time keeping a secret. I will constantly giggle and never make eye contact. Mark’s proposal was no secret to me, and that may have been my fault… I persisted on wanting the nice nails, the perfect outfit, and hair strands all in the right place. You may want to know when the special day is, but this is one surprise you can live with. You won’t care about the nails, hair and outfit, all you will care about is the moment with your forever love. You can take care of those details when you take those engagement pictures! And I am not saying I regret my proposal story, it was still a lovely surprise. I had no idea what Mark and his sister had planned out for me. It was just another day before Mark asked me to be ready after work and that he would be picking me up to go out. As soon as he pulled up, I got into the car and was blindfolded. At this point, I knew it was coming. We were on the road for what was like 45 minutes, my stomach turned with nerves, coming close to hitting a cow in the middle of the road (or at least Mark says we almost did). Upon our arrival to this secret destination, Mark walked me up to our proposal spot and surprised me with a desert picnic surrounded by red rocks and Nevada mountains. There was a wood palette on top of a white rug with cushions and a charcuterie board paired with glasses of Martinelli. It was gorgeous and I was speechless. When I looked back at Mark he was on one knee, ready to share his heart with me. It was the sweetest surprise, and I definitely said yes! After some tears, we got a couple pictures to remember the moment. And we couldn’t let the salami and cheese just sit there so we enjoyed a picnic together, chatting and laughing. I love Mark and his sister, they did a wonderful job at pulling off my not so secret, secret proposal. I wouldn’t change it for the world.
