“Blake and I met way, way back in middle school when I was a cute lil’-polo-wearing-sofi-short-rolling-fresh-outta-my-braces 8th grader. Our brothers were on the same Little League team and the hope that I’d see Blake in the bleachers at any given game quickly became the reason that I became the team’s number one supporter. Too shy to make my move, it was the boldness of Blake’s friend Sara, who would eventually become a mutual friend and attendee at our wedding, that was ultimately responsible for making the connection. One fateful fall evening I felt a tap on my shoulder from behind, a girl who I did not recognize stood there asking my name and, more importantly, if I thought her friend was “cute.” After a brief stint watching movies at each other’s houses, a mortifying realization that this boy was a new student and 9th grader at my school (aka an older man), we fell out. Sixteen years, many states, plenty of relationships, a chance encounter with my now Mother-In-Law and a brazen slide into Blake’s DMs later, and here we are. Right back where we started – and I suppose where we were meant to be all along. When it came to our style and design, we wanted the colors, textures and decor to reflect the surroundings – an all out embrace of the place. Beautiful neutrals, hard and soft natural elements, architectural twists, a design that felt as timeless as it did fresh. Michelle Leo and Jillian Burnham did it all and more. From the vendors they recommended, to their collaborative spirit, our seventeen month – yes I said seventeen because we love a relatively stress-free, well-timed, top choice-securing wedding journey – was one I will never forget. I think I may just be one of the luckiest brides in existence. I walked away with vendors who I consider friends and that surrounded me, Blake and our guests with more talent, love and good vibes throughout our weekend in the mountains than I could have imagined.”
