“Cameron and I both went to Carroll College where it’s so small that everyone knows everyone. So, when we started dating my junior year, he told me he had been waiting for this moment since the day I stepped foot on campus. Needless to say, he charmed me off my feet and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t thank God for bringing him into my life. Not only did he make me fall in love with him, but he made me fall in love with Montana in a way I wasn’t expecting being from out of state. After graduating we decided to move to Missoula so I could attend the University of Montana for pharmacy school. He has been my biggest supporter throughout graduate school, and I don’t think I could make it without his terrible dad jokes to cheer me up. Proposal: After three years of dating, I was convinced I would see the proposal coming from a mile away. I was sure he would do it when we went to his family’s annual camping trip at Flathead Lake. It wasn’t until my parents told me they would be out of town that I accepted that the proposal couldn’t happen then. Family is everything to us and Cameron knew I’ve always wanted my family there when I got engaged. So, when we pulled up to our campsite, I greeted his family as usual and didn’t even notice him step away. After a while of talking, they walked me to our tent site where I saw a big projector screen and a chair. I really didn’t think anything of it because I kept walking past it! It wasn’t until Cameron came on the screen and started talking to me through a video that it finally hit me. He talked me through our love story and at the end, told me he couldn’t imagine this moment without our families together. I turned around to find my entire family was standing behind me the whole time! He got down on one knee and we got to celebrate with everyone we love on the gorgeous Flathead Lake all week long! Planning: Last year we were invited to six weddings in one summer so most of my wedding inspiration has come from comparing my Pinterest boards to what I appreciated most as a wedding guest. One thing we really want to capture is our personality as a couple. So even though we’re getting married at the Carroll College Chapel, Cameron and I are really excited to tie in both traditional and non-traditional elements at our wedding.”
