Love Story
“Ronish and Anisha met through a mutual friend while Anisha was checking out universities to go to and while at McMaster, she met Ronish through this friend. At first, they were acquaintances but after talking over the course of several months they just clicked! They started dating in 2011 and she joined Ronish at McMaster where they have been together ever since – over 10 years! As they dated, they were going through many phases of life together and there were ups and downs while figuring out their career goals and what kind of life they wanted. They are both very determined and aspired to pursue higher education in the medical field – Anisha’s of becoming a doctor and Ronish as a pharmacist. One of their biggest hurdles was when Ronish went to Albany College of Pharmacy in Albany New York for 6 years and their relationship transitioned to one that was long distance. There were many times where they were unsure if they would make it as a couple due to their busy education schedules. They focused on the good moments and always looked forward to seeing each other again even if it was months later. Eventually, they realized they made it through probably the hardest thing in their relationship and were ready to push forward to forever. Once Anisha graduated medical school and went through the Canadian Residency Match (CaRMs), they both knew she could end up anywhere in Canada for her sub-specialty training. Ronish did not hesitate once and said “I will go wherever you are”… in that moment they knew they would get married! Eventually they both moved to Kingston, Ontario where she is now doing her residency and where Ronish proposed in June 2020, the first week they moved into their new apartment.”
The Wedding
“Anisha and Ronish wanted a modern boho-inspired wedding while still maintaining their Indian heritage and traditions. Taking inspiration from the Rockies all of the venues were hand selected due to their views. The Hindu wedding ceremony took place at Silvertip surrounded by the echoing mountains where Ruby from The Maby Studio and House of Fiori used a modern colour palette and boho-inspired floral design. Anisha & Ronish with their wedding party used this same neutral and modern colour palette fused with their Indian heritage in their wedding day couture. The reception and celebration was hosted at The Malcolm Hotel where The Maby Studio took similar inspiration but added a night time glam with the addition of blacks and golds for the night time soiree. A champagne wall seating chart greeted guests and modern, minimalist stationery in black with line drawings of the mountains were details that were incorporated throughout.”
