From Miss to Mrs: A Darling West Coast Bridal Shower

Delicate doilies, fresh florals, a room filled with only the best support system—what more could a bride ask for? This “Miss to Mrs.” bridal shower was the perfect sendoff for Alicia in her transition into married life. Get your notebook and pen ready, because you’ll want to re-create this gorgeous shower in an instant, decor and all. We’re getting some serious Bridgerton vibes, sans the drama!

The Love Story

Alicia and Tavish met in Madrid, Spain in 2012 through a University of Victoria exchange program, a meet cute that would ignite their love story. On a crisp, sunny Christmas Eve in the middle of Stanley Park with a brilliant sunset, Alicia said “I do” to spending the rest of her life with Tavish.

The Bridal Shower

The calm waters of Burrard Inlet set the stage for a beautiful bridal shower fit for royalty. With Alicia being the first grandchild to get married, her Nana wanted to make the day extra special by hostessing an afternoon of high tea and celebration, complete with an English garden theme. British Orange Pekoe tea was served from a traditional silver tea set into assorted china tea cups to pay homage to the old British tradition. Afternoon tea accompaniments consisted of small sandwiches, savoury quiche, fresh scones, baked biscuits, cheese and more, all thanks to Tracy Rowland of Taste to Savour

To satisfy every guest’s sweet tooth, Bon Ton Pastry & Confectionery supplied a rich diplomat cake adorned with pink butter icing roses and “Miss to Mrs” written in script. The puff pastry, rum-infused sponge cake and powdered sugar that are distinct to a diplomat cake surpassed everyone’s expectations. To add another touch of sentimentality, Bon Ton Bakery decorated Alicia’s parents’ wedding cake 40 years prior, making it the family’s go-to for memorable occasions.

Limelight Floral Design brought all of the decor to life with pastel coloured arrangements full of pink peonies, snapdragons, hydrangeas, roses and baby’s breath. A flourishing English garden at its finest! With the help of Victoria Scott Photography, each moment was captured to memorialize the special day for Alicia, friends and family.
