“Set against the backdrop of Paris, Ryan and Zach’s proposal was both thoughtful and cinematic, an evening that ended with a quiet, champagne-filled moment on a hotel balcony, where Ryan asked Zach to marry him. As they began planning their wedding, they kept coming back to that feeling: something special, a little unexpected, and shared with intention. Rather than a traditional sit-down format, they designed the day as a celebration-first experience, featuring a live performance by Ballet BC instead of a first dance, a comedic roast instead of a generic toast, and a nitrogen ice cream bar on the rooftop of The Vancouver Club in place of a cake. As a nod to their proposal, they also commissioned a live painter to capture Le Pavillon de la Reine, the hotel where they became engaged, creating a lasting piece from the moment that started it all. The result was a night that felt more like a party than a production.”
