“We met when we were babies it feels like, I was 21 and Zach 22, we were both working in the service industry in Vancouver at the time and ended up working at the same bar. Zach started walking me home when we worked the same shifts, and the rest is history. We have gone through many phases of life and truly grew up together. We helped each other become who we are as individuals today. Ten years after we met, we tied the knot. My inspiration for the day was to emulate a non-wedding wedding. We wanted to celebrate our love with our family but not stick to all the traditions and if we did stick to them, put some flair on it. We exchanged vows privately, had a quick ceremony that had minimal seating on purpose, skipped the assign seating and sweetheart tables, and opted for a communal dining experience with our friends and family. The menu was also personal and by no means formal—the menu included a grazing table post ceremony, a wood fired pizza oven and gourmet hot dog food trucks for dinner, a mini doughnut tower by a talented friend/chef, and homemade Oreo cookies made by my mom to represent the best combination of us. Floral design was the most important detail of the wedding, and I had a lot of fun obsessing over it. I hoped for an artful and fruit dripped alter and that extended to floral and fruity table scapes with a wide color palette. I stumbled across a talented local floral designer that made my wedding floral dreams come true with such ease.”
