“Mackinley and Connor’s black-tie wedding was a fusion of formal elegance and delightful surprises. Set in the historic Vancouver Club in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, we creatively utilized multiple spaces of the Club for each aspect of the wedding day, filling the rooms with romantic, classic details and unexpected elements to keep guests intrigued. Upon arrival, guests were welcomed with a glass of bubbly and guided to the ceremony location. The ceremony was beautifully adorned with lush, wild greenery, accented by pops of white. Following this, guests transitioned to the Vancouver Club’s stunning Georgian Room, where hints of 1950s Miami infused a relaxed and unexpected atmosphere for cocktail hour. For the dinner in the Grand Ballroom, we opted for an all-black palette, balancing the room’s formal structure with a masculine, supper club ambiance. The decor featured black bistro chairs, black acrylic and mirrored table toppers, vintage silver charger plates, and handwritten menus, all continuing the theme. The florals were rich and textural, showcasing greens, creams, and chartreuse. After dinner, guests were ushered downstairs for dancing and cake. We aimed to create a feminine feel for the after-party space, designing a large gold installation above the dance floor, accented with vibrant hot pink and neon elements. Baskets filled with flip-flops, classic prosecco, and late-night McDonald’s encouraged a lively dance party. Our dedicated team of vendors went above and beyond to create a cohesive design that seamlessly transitioned from one space to another, while introducing a fresh colour palette and unexpected twists along the way.”
