Fun facts
What do you consider your style to be?
Boho, Vintage, Western! I have really enjoyed growing into my style in the last few years and have really found that I don't fit within one style. I love both whispy and light boho looks, as well as dark and moody boho looks. I also really love everything vintage and western prints and patterns! I like to stand out as a person and a business!
How did you get started in the wedding industry?
I got engaged! When Zach (my now husband) proposed I was as excited as any other bride to be, and I am a planner and a doer at heart! So as soon as we became engaged, I began to want to plan the wedding--to my disappointment there was nothing on the market for Western planners, and very little for the western loving bride as far as planning products. Being the doer that I am, I thought I would just go ahead and design one for myself-like many brides I took on the "I'll make everything myself" mentality. What I soon realized though, was that I didn't just want to make these incredibly useful, beautiful, and down right country items, just for myself. And so The Saddle Shoppe was born. I have always been the creative type, and being a teacher when I started, I knew I could create both a pretty but productive business because I had the skills and drive to do it! From there, it has been my incredible following who has inspired all of my products, beyond the Wedding Planner. Seeing the wants and hopes of others, inspires me daily, and inspires the constantly growing inventory of Western/Country/Boho wedding preparing items!
Where do you find your design inspiration?
All of my design inspiration comes from the incredible western/country/boho culture! Growing up on a ranch with cattle, horses, pigs and vast Colorado mountains surrounding me, the love of the Western industry comes naturally. I constantly immerse myself in western/boho fashion, and surround myself with strong Country loving women. All of my designs come from childhood memories, favorite fashion trends (right now, I am on a huge vintage western kick), and the suggestions from western loving people, like me!
What is your favorite part about a wedding?
I have two favorite parts! The first part is the details of the wedding; this derives from the teacher/planner oriented part of my brain, but the details truly make or break the wedding experience for me! I believe that you can truly see both the expression of the couples individual personalities as well as their love for one another, through the details they choose to make part of their wedding. That being said, that is why I choose to be in the wedding details industry. Being able to help capture, even a small piece of a persons personality and a couples love, and develop products that will be used before, during and cherished afterwards, is my true driving force. The second part are the secret, special moments a couple shares during their wedding day. I recently got married in June of 2022 and there was truly nothing more special, than the first look my husband and I shared privately, before the wedding. Because I am a planner and a doer, I experience a lot of anxiety (as most brides) before things are planned and done. But because I spent so much time planning and preparing for the wedding ahead of time, I was able to completely surrender to the joy of the day, and spend the little moments in complete awe of the love I felt. I truly believe allowing yourself those moments on your wedding day, are the greatest gift you can give yourself!
