What do you consider your style to be?
Even a modern aesthetic can be deeply grounded. My work is rooted in true-to-life color, clean execution, and an intentional balance of candid and editorial imagery. I believe the most striking photographs are the ones that feel effortless — moments that are artfully directed when needed, but never over-styled, and always anchored in the authenticity of what was actually unfolding.
How did you get started in the wedding industry?
I’ve always loved taking pictures, and I had the gift of traveling often from high school through college and into my early adult years. Somewhere along the way, I became more intentional — asking myself why certain images worked and others didn’t. A friend eventually asked me to second-shoot a wedding with him, and from that day forward I knew: this is what I wanted to do with my life.
Where do you find your design inspiration?
I pull so much of my design inspiration from outside the wedding world. I’m endlessly moved by the lifestyle and work of Ralph Lauren — that sense of heritage, ease, and timeless refinement. Rodney Smith is my favorite photographer; his composition, wit, and quiet elegance have shaped the way I see. I try to look beyond industry chatter as much as possible so I can approach weddings with a clearer eye, grounded in storytelling, style, and intentionality rather than trends.
What is your favorite part about a wedding?
My favorite part of a wedding is the sheer variety of the day. As a wedding photographer, you get to wear so many hats — part photojournalist, part stylist, part art director, part commercial photographer. It’s a blend of roles that keeps me inspired and fully alive in the work. But above all, being trusted to document a wedding is my favorite part. The honor of being chosen to preserve a couple’s most meaningful moments is remarkable — and incredibly humbling.
