Since 2010, Ethiopia has been one of the fastest growing economies in the world, and the fastest growing economy in Africa. It’s also home to one of the oldest civilizations on earth and birthplace to our beloved coffee. It’s fair to say that in the last thirty years Ethiopia has come a long way. It’s a young vibrant community brimming with potential. At Parker Clay we are proud to make 100% of our products in Ethiopia, with premium Ethiopian leather, allowing the potential to thrive.
As of 2019, we have over 150 employees in our factory in Ethiopia 96 of those employees are women, and 32 of these women have been hired out of prostitution through our partnership with Ellilta Women at Risk, and we are just getting started. By the end of 2020, our goal is to hire over 100 more women, with the majority coming from the Ellilta Women at Risk program, fighting to bring even more women out of prostitution.
“I love what they are doing for women in Ethiopia. Not to mention their beautiful, well crafted products. I love my rust Merkato tote and Zahra wallet. I love the smell of leather and their leather doesn’t disappoint. Exquisite.”

“Parker Clay not only creates beautiful, quality products but does so with people in mind. Not just the customers that purchase their products but also where they source their materials and the employees that hand craft each piece. I love each of my PC purchases. They are well made, age well and include a quality guarantee. If you want a great gift that will last a lifetime – purchase from Parker Clay.”
