Netzero Ranch

Aloha, thank you for taking the time to check out my wild idea of starting a food company in the middle of nowhere.

I consider myself lucky to be here. We are located in a remote valley, 30 minutes north of Las Vegas, NM, at the base of Hermits Peak.

Out here in the wild, we are free from urban chaos, have the chance to grow food, connect with nature and animals, and share these gifts with others. It’s that simple. These are the things that make me the happiest.

I come from a farm and ranch background, both parents were homesteaders, and I have taste buds for fresh, seasonal ingredients. I spent my adult life working as a private chef in NYC and San Fransisco for 30 years.

When Covid hit, and San Francisco emptied, I bought this little ranch, moved to New Mexico, and started a catering business.

My first wedding season was the last year, 2022. We were getting ready for a busy summer when the unthinkable happened. The Hermits Peak Calf Canyon fire destroyed over 300,000 acres of forest, and 700 homes, including my professional kitchen.

I had 15 weddings to cook for and not one pot or pan. Thankfully, I pulled it off with the help of the local community and churches, donating their kitchens to me.

That’s when the idea of turning my ranch into a farm-to-venue food company became real, only this time I was going to do it differently.

We create seasonal wedding menus that are prepared exclusively for each client.

Zero GMO, zero single-use items, zero plastics, no shopping at big-name stores, and everything is made fresh from our farm produce and cooked in our local community kitchen.

But most importantly, we do not tolerate factory farming of animals. We selected a small handful of ranchers who practice regenerative ranching and the humane treatment of their animals.

We promise to create the wedding dinner of your dreams without a big carbon footprint.

If eating fresh, beautiful, authentic food with friends and family is your thing? Then check us out. We would love to spoil you.

Mahalo, Kualani

“It’s never too late to follow your dream.”

Kualani and her team did an amazing job catering appetizers during cocktail hour at our wedding. She was very easy to work with, highly communicative and wonderful the day of. And most importantly, everyone loved the food! Would highly recommend her.

As a wedding photographer, I had the BEST meal that I have ever had at a wedding in the 5+ years that I have been doing this full time. The team was all super nice and efficient all night long. Even the display of the buffet table was aesthetically pleasing. Everyone at the wedding was commenting on how good the food was! I will be recommending Netzero Ranch to my future couples in need of a caterer for their weddings! 100000% recommend!

Netzero Ranch catering is awesome! We used them for our organization's event, so it was a non-wedding event. All of our guests loved the food. Chef K is very communicative and helpful with creating the menu to fit all dietary needs. It was very cool to have the team cooking on site. Also, our guests loved that we were zero-waste. We created little to no waste which was great for our environmentally friendly audience. Would highly recommend Netzero for catering for a business event.

Fun facts

What do you consider your style to be?

Farm to fork Field to plate Local regenerative ranch/farm supporter Seasonal straightforward rustic elegance I pull my food style from Mexico, Napa Valley Ca, NYC, New England, and the Mediterranean. It's an elegant and traditional texture of flavors.

How did you get started in the wedding industry?

I was positioned to work as the catering chef for a resort whose kitchen burned in the Hermits Peak Fire that first season. I had no choice but to start my own company. Had no idea it was what I should have been doing all along. It's a silver lining thing.

Where do you find your design inspiration?

I love following small up-and-coming, humble chefs on Instagram from Oaxaca Mexico to LA to New Orleans. There's so much that nature just tells me what to cook. And I cook what the farmers have seasonally. It's not always up to me.

What is your favorite part about a wedding?

The whole thing from start to finish; the planning, menu creation with the couple, sourcing from farmers, prepping with my crew, the intensity of production and exicution, and then the celebration of the toasts, the dinner, and the after party. Weddings are the happiest places to be on earth.
