McKenzie’s roots are in Oregon, where a few years living on the coast in Astoria is what first put a camera in her hands — and she never put it down. That moment sparked something that has only grown deeper over the past five years of documenting couples on some of the most meaningful days of their lives.
Her approach is rooted in a simple belief her mother instilled early: photographs aren’t just images. They’re the thing you reach for when you want to feel something again. The proof that it was real. The gift you leave for the people who come after you.
McKenzie specializes in couples who are choosing their wedding day intentionally — prioritizing experience over spectacle, meaning over performance. She comes prepared, stays calm when the day shifts, and finds the moments you didn’t know to look for. Her couples don’t just walk away with a gallery. They walk away with their story — told carefully, beautifully, and in a way that lasts.

What are your favorite kinds of couples to work with?
My favorite couples are the ones who are fully present in their day — grounded, romantic, and focused on what truly matters. The ones who feel everything and aren't afraid to show it.
What is your favorite part about a wedding?
My favorite moments of any wedding day are the first looks and private vows. All the nerves of waiting. The words you've been holding onto. The tears, the laughs, the overwhelming rush of it all finally being real. Those moments are so specific to each couple — the way they look at each other, what they say, what they can't say. A wedding day holds more emotion than almost any other day in a person's life, and every bit of it tells the story of who they are together. I don't take lightly that I get to be let into that.
