Real, heartfelt moments for adventurous, down-to-earth couples
I know how hard it is to plan a wedding, because almost 4 short years ago, my wife Jenny and I were busy planning and counting down the days until our own wedding day. We were married in an old firehouse on the North Side of Chicago, the city where she and I first met.
Jenny and I wanted to plan a wedding as memorable and unique as we are. We needed the real deal. A day (and a photographer) that captured all our quirks—from how much my wife loves Beyoncé to how much our friends and family love the dance floor.
I know you can’t control the things like how many times your parents will burst into tears (Spoiler alert: it’s a lot.) But there’s one thing you can control—making sure you have the right team to help make everything else comfortable and stress-free.
And I’m here to be your teammate.
This is my 4th year as a Colorado wedding photographer. Between that and planning my own wedding I learned a key lesson:
Each and every piece of your wedding is important, but the perfect images let you take your big day home and relive it again and again. They’re something to show your future kids and grandkids: This is a family that started with two soulmates and a *whole lot of magic.*
Let me capture those irreplaceable moments that bring that magic to life. No fake laughing photos you could find as a placeholder in a Target picture frame. I’ll capture your beautiful love just as you are, and send you home with the the most meaningful heirloom I could ever hope to give you—
An incredible record of the absolute best day of your lives.
We knew we wanted an incredible photographer who could capture our day in a candid way, but we were nervous about our lifelong wedding photos looking awkward or staged. After our engagement session with Mat, we went home and talked about how we knew we had chosen a great photographer. Once we saw the emotion and connection that he captured in every photo, we knew we had hired the right photographer for our day. The nerves we initially had about being in front of the camera were completely non-existent by the time our wedding day came because Mat made us feel comfortable from the start. We knew we would get amazing wedding photography from our wedding, but we didn't expect all the support, care, and all around amazing experience that Mat gave us from start to finish.

Mat took the time to get to know us, but he also reached out to multiple people who are close to us before the wedding so he could further learn about us as a couple and ask how he could make the day even more special for us. After the wedding, it continued to be a very personal experience at the Reveal Celebration when we got to see our wedding images for the first time in person with Mat. I was so pleased with how much raw emotion Mat captured in his amazingly beautiful photos. He very much captured the feelings and emotion of our wedding... and even after seeing these photos a million times, I still tear up every time I look at the beautiful images from our day. Mat made the whole experience so wonderful and special for us. I could not recommend him more highly.

Mat was a game changer for our wedding day. Not only was he super professional and efficient, he treated us like we were his own family. He recognized wants and desires for our wedding day without us expressing them. The experience with his photography goes far and beyond the engagement shoot and the wedding day to included intimate reveal sessions of the final products on more than one occasion. I can’t describe how much he positively affected our day, the months lead up to our day, and the months after.

Where are you originally from? I'm originally from the Midwest and lived in Chicago for 8 years. After getting married in 2018, my wife Jenny and I moved to Colorado, where we now love to call home.
What do you consider your style to be? I capture real, heartfelt moments for adventurous, down-to-earth couples. Beyond that, my work is edited based on a clean, minimalist style focused heavily on composition and beautiful, bold colors that remain true to the color in the original scene. I approach my work hoping to preserve the timelessness of the moment while still staying on trend.
What is your favorite part about a wedding? I'm super proud of the experience I give couples throughout their engagement. I want my couples to be able to relax on their wedding day knowing their wedding photography is in good hands. The intentional process I guide my couples through lets me learn about your story, understand what's important to you, and plan strategically to set ourselves up for success on your wedding day. Ultimately, on your wedding day I want you to be fully present and keep an open mind. When that happens, we'll be able to preserve your legacy for future generations to look back on and you'll remember exactly how you *felt* on your wedding day. That's the best part.
