COLORADO WEDDING + ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER | AVAILABLE FOR TRAVEL

Hi friends!

I am a lover of people and photographing the sweet moments — Documenting honest imagery and cinematic storytelling.

I am a twenty two year old who just moved up to Denver for the fun of it with my golden doodle best friend— which I am way too excited about.

After going to college in Fayetteville, Arkansas (woo pig baby) for two years, I realized I was passionate in so many other areas of my life and decided to take the leap and drop out of school to pursue photography– and here we are, two years later, doing the dang thing.

I am so incredibly passionate about people and relationships, and I love that this job of mine allows me to meet and befriend the best people. Truly. Let me come to you and tell your story how it is, through photos you’ll cling onto for forever.

Love Notes

“I honestly don’t think I can put into words how I feel about our photos/how grateful we are for Marissa. I so appreciate how she went out of her way to get the moments in between. So so special. She carries herself with such grace and peace. I really appreciated her calm spirit throughout the day and reminding us “you’re getting married!” or “you’re married!” She has no idea how much she helped me breathe and stay calm in what could have been hectic moments. I will be gawking at these for probably ever. GEEEEZ. She’s a gem. Hire her asap.”

“MARISSA. A dream. She uses her gift to be intentional. She wants to know her clients story & how she can not only create a picture that embodies that but also how she can be apart of our story. She has a way of seeing my dream and creating more that I did not know I even needed. I trust her with my life!! She made my wedding day and engagement journey so easy and lovely. She checked on us when she totally did not need to. The galleries she created were insanely stunning and filled with a thousand and more pictures. Each seeming more personal than the one before. She carried herself with kindness and grace before and after her services and she is truly one of a kind with an eye for people and placements like no other. The galleries were a dream come true and no lie had me sobbing. She was somehow able to capture the love I have for my husband without using words and they are something we will treasure forever.”

“Looking for a photographer is an incredibly difficult process – especially with an over-saturation of photographers. Listen. Marissa is special. We have used Marissa for 3 shoots so far and she is the best of the best. She is thoughtful and futuristic. Do yourself a favor, book Marissa. By far the best photographer to work with and know.”

Fun facts

What do you consider your style to be?

I am a lover of people and photographing your sweetest moments with honest imagery. I gravitate towards more of a storytelling and documentary style approach, where I will guide you in certain areas, but tend to love being a fly on the wall, simply capturing "you." My editing style is pretty true to color, focusing on enhancing each image for how it looked and felt in that moment.

What are your favorite kinds of couples to work with?

All love stories are so unique, and deserve the attention to be treated as such. I strive for none of my sessions to be replicated with my next couple, but rather dive deep into what feels like you. Couples who are willing to allow me into their world for the afternoon or wedding day make for great storytelling images. Some traditions are special to keep, but if you're willing to throw a few out the door and have some fun with it.... I think we'll be perfect for one another.

Do you travel for clients? If so, where?

I go where you pull me. I have had multiple couples who met in one place, then moved to a different city, and are getting married in the small town they grew up in, and I have photographed them in all 3 stages of those memories. I can't emphasize enough how important it is to me to make these images feel like you and bring you back to certain times and feelings in your life. Met in New York City and spent your early dating days walking the streets around your neighborhood in Manhattan? Take me on that walk. You shared your first kiss along the Cliffs of Moher? Shoot yeah, let's go back there and do it all over again. Traveling is an easy yes for me, always.

Where do you find your design inspiration?

Considering my approach to photography leans more towards documentary, my easiest inspiration is people watching. (In the least creepy way, ha.) Studying the way a couple interacts laying on a picnic blanket in the park, brushing each others hair back to steal a kiss. How they hold hands while standing in line to grab coffee, leaning heads on one another. Even so far as to say I screenshot TikTok videos of couples dancing in the rain or hugging on each other in the streets. Human interaction is the biggest and easiest inspiration for me, hands down.
