Wander | Wonder | Wild

A mountain girl at heart, I was born in Idaho and have always been drawn to wild spaces. I spent several formative summers of my childhood living on a remote fire lookout in the Payette National Forest which my mother was manning. From then on, I knew my home was among the mountains. I have been lucky enough to call Jackson Hole home since 2014. Photography started as a hobby over two decades ago but soon developed into a passion, and ultimately a career. I studied art history in undergraduate and graduate school. Seemingly unrelated on the surface, I believe that my background in art history helped hone my artistic eye, and continues to inform my photography through composition, light, and framing. I began as a landscape photographer, and this allowed me to develop an immense knowledge of the region, with so many locations for my couples to choose from.

Living in Jackson year-round, with my two cats and husband, I have experience shooting in Grand Teton National Park in every month and any weather! I bring that invaluable local knowledge and experience to all my sessions, ensuring that my couples have the best experience. I truly love photography and the opportunity to meet and work with so many incredible couples. I consider myself an awkward introvert and I’ve found that this is actually a benefit as a photographer – it helps me better connect with my clients, lighten the mood, and make everyone feel at ease in front of the camera.

I am so lucky to document people’s lives and love stories. Most of the time, I am witnessing and capturing some of the happiest moments of their lives—it’s an honor I genuinely cherish. When I’m not photographing you can find me watching the sunrise, baking, listening to Taylor Swift, or reading a good book.

Love Notes
Could not recommend Madison more!! We were travelling to Jackson Hole for our large elopement / small wedding and, after looking through portfolios of a number of local photographers, went with Madison before ever meeting. Turns out we got incredibly lucky - couldn't have asked for a better wedding day! Madison was super helpful planning locations, talking us through necessary paperwork leading up to the big day, wrangling our families, and even finding a few unplanned locations to take impromptu post-ceremony photos. I won't even get into how incredible the photos were (you can see on her site). I would recommend Madison to anyone looking for a photographer in Jackson - whether from there or not. She's incredibly kind, friendly, and professional. BIG thank you!

Madison was a dream to work with. She was so easy to feel comfortable with and captured our wedding day so perfectly. Our wedding photos are truly magical and we have her to thank for that. We would recommend her to anyone, and I hope one day we can use her again in the future! Our families have bragged on her and how easy going she was with everyone during the entire process. We haven’t had professional photos done before but she made the entire morning so easy! She scouted locations for us and made my Pinterest board dreams become our reality. I truly cannot believe my wedding photos are mine to keep forever. The one thing other people told me to spend our money on is photography because it is the only thing you really truly keep from your wedding day, and I’m so thankful I found Madison. A true blessing.

Working with Madison was the best choice I made for my husband and I's wedding photos!! She was so easy to work with, funny, casual and did such an incredible job capturing our essence in the pictures. She knew exactly where she wanted to take photos for us and we explored several different locations. Our family and friends loved her as well, she has such an easy-going personality. If you're on the fence or debating where to invest your money, I highly recommend Madison, as it was easily the best part of the wedding memories and I am so grateful to have gotten to work with her. Magical photos!

I’m so happy that I booked Madison for our elopement ceremony in the Tetons. She absolutely captured the perfect moments that will forever be cherished. Madison was very kind, professional, and was amazing at giving instructions (for two people who never had a photo shoot in their lives). We’re still raving about the beautiful photos that she captured. I highly recommend Madison!

Fun facts

What do you consider your style to be?

My editing style is natural and vibrant. My shooting style is a mix of prompted and fluid - I shoot quickly and enjoy creating space for real moments.

Do you travel for clients? If so, where?

Absolutely, happy to travel anywhere for a love story!

What are your favorite activities to do in The Rockies?

There is something so inspiring about watching the sunrise hit the mountains. I love getting out and enjoying the beauty of that early-morning reverie. One of my favorite quotes is from "Wild by Cheryl Strayed, “There’s always a sunrise and always a sunset and it’s up to you to choose to be there for it,’ said my mother. 'Put yourself in the way of beauty.” That has become a guiding principle for me. Living in the Tetons there is no shortage of beauty, but you still have to show up for it. Wherever I go, I strive to put myself in the way of beauty.
