Lucky Onion Stationery & Design
Innovative Design, Luxury Stationery. Design Happy.
Lucky Onion is a design team and print company based out of Denver, Colorado: hometown to owners and husband and wife, illustrator and graphic designer, Kevin Eslinger and Cristy Fernandez.
After acquiring years of experience in both the production and design industry in New York City and San Francisco, they founded Lucky Onion® in 2001.
As high school sweethearts, Kevin and Cristy know how special life events are and how important it is to commemorate them. It is through stationery they were able to announce their wedding, their first home, and their daughter’s birth. It is with this inspiration that they started their company and created their custom stationery design lines. After years of being in the custom stationery design business, Lucky Onion® launched its first lines of everyday stationery products in 2014. We continue to work with couples from all over the world on their custom wedding stationery and details, making each one uniquely memorable.
“This is the most magnificent print shop in Denver. I cannot say enough good things about this place! Cristy is absolutely amazing!! I’m very very picky but I trust Cristy’s opinion on fonts and design details more than I even trust myself. She knows what she’s doing and it is reflected in the quality of her work. I got all of my wedding paper done through Cristy, save the dates, invitations, menus, napkins, stirrers, buffet signage, welcome letters, matches, coasters etc. A one stop shop and she makes it so easy! I go to Cristy now anytime I have an event I need any kind of paper for (customized plastic cups for parties, always a crowd pleaser). I just describe to her a theme and name and she creates the most amazing designs. This place is the best!!!”

What do you consider your style to be? Unique, Authentic, Luxury, with great variety of texture, mediums, and finishes.
What are your favorite kinds of couples to work with? I love working with clients on a close and personal basis. It is gratifying when they place their trust in me to create the best stationery suite for them. While most of my clients carry busy lives, it’s my job to ask the right questions, to get to the root of their vision. I’ll ask for adjectives to help describe both the couple and their wedding day. It helps me step into the their world and visualize how we can put that on paper. From there, I run with the vision and get creative. I often get the comment that I make the process so easy and fun for my clients.
How did you get started in the wedding industry? I started this business with my husband, Kevin, in 2001, as a freelance company. We have grown in so many ways since then! After freelancing for a while, I got into the stationery design business as we were planning for our wedding. As it turned out, there were not a lot of stationery companies at the time that offered a lot of variety in the designs. As a graphic designer, and having worked closely in the printing industry, I knew that the options should have felt limitless. I ended up creating my own invitations. That planted the seed for our focus on the stationery industry. In 2007, the same year our daughter was born, we launched our first stationery line, and began printing everything in-house. As they say, the rest was history. Today, our concentration is working with wedding couples who want to have something authentic and unique to them. I get the most enjoyment working closely with couples, identifying that thing that speaks to them, and finding unique and meaningful ways to accomplish that. I love what I do!
Do you travel for clients? If so, where? Where needed for installs and set up, if requested.
