With a unique, creative eye, Colby uses his spatial awareness to capture the perfect angles, lighting and overall photograph. He began shooting at just thirteen years old when his parents bought him a canon rebel for a trip to Alaska. Ever since, he has continually developed his style and is proud to be self-taught.

Colby grew up in Texas, graduated from TCU and relocated to Jackson in 2019 where he works as the Jackson Hole HS quarterbacks coach, runs Carpenter Cattle Company and manages the online presence of multiple brands. His wife, Ashley, owns a successful professional makeup business in Jackson Hole, Ashley Drew Artistry.

Fun facts

What do you consider your style to be?

Colby’s photography experience includes the TCU Football social media team, luxury real estate photography for Sotheby’s and Century 21, weddings, elopements, engagements and even working with livestock. His multifaceted background allows him to see every detail before each klick of his camera, capturing the natural beauty in all photographs.

How did you get started in the wedding industry?

I got started with weddings after photographing a small wedding for two close friends of mine in Grand Teton National Park.

What are your favorite activities to do in The Rockies?

First, I love raising my cattle in the mountains just south of Jackson. Our ranch is located in a spot where we can reach millions of acres of backcountry for snowmobiling, skiing, hiking and fishing.

What is your favorite part about a wedding?

My favorite part of a wedding is the ceremony and the each couples unique design coming together with their love and the love of their friends and family. There's nothing better than photographing everyones natural emotions during ceremonies!
