Images That Hit Close To Home

Photography is an artful form of storytelling that gives us a unique space to cultivate a connection and co-create a memorable experience. Simply put, an experience you’ll never forget.

My approach to your wedding day is all about documenting not only the big moments but also capturing those ‘b-roll’ in-between details as well. From the landscape backdrop to your first kiss as a married couple, it’s all of these moments put together that’ll tell your story for generations to come.

Attention to details, the location, and the in-between moments (what I like to call the “b-roll”)  is something I think is so pivotal to your wedding day. I offer packages that are created for you and your unique special day with add on’s such as photo albums, engagement sessions, and more, so you will be able to have exactly what you’re looking for with my assistance along the way so that nothing is missed.

As an Idaho native with over five years of experience, and featured on the cover of Rocky Mountain Bride Idaho 2021, Pop Sugar, and more, I take all of that experience and pour it into your special day so that your memories are documented and beautifully captured for generations to come.

Testimonials

“I wish I had the proper words to explain how amazing Heather is. As a wedding photographer myself, I was VERY picky when it came time to choose a photographer to capture our vow renewal. Heather flew out to Colorado from her home in Idaho. She hand made vow booklets for my husband and me. She braved a bitterly cold October day and made us a surprise video (UMM WHAT!)This woman is an artist with a heart of gold and an eye for moments others so easily miss. I could not be happier with the choice we made when we chose to have Heather photograph such an important moment for our marriage. I could not recommend this woman and her talent enough!”

I cannot say enough how incredible Heather Woolery is. She made me and my fiance so comfortable and relaxed throughout the whole process. At the last minute, we had to find a new location for our elopement and within two days Heather had mapped out a PERFECT location for us to relocate to. She is dedicated, dependable, and so sweet! Not to mention our photographs were absolutely perfect! They told our story so beautifully. If I ever need a photographer for future events she is the first one I’ll be calling!

“10/10 would recommend and will rebook with her again. Heather is an artist and very good at what she does. Plus, she’s just good people. She took the time to get to know who we were before we met for the shoot, so it felt like she knew us as individuals and as a couple before we began. During the shoot, it was surprising that even though we knew we were being photographed, we were able to feel “alone together” in the moment. We’re not super relaxed with getting our picture taken because sometimes photoshoots can feel fake or rigid in a way, but Heather knew how to get us to open up and be genuinely playful without making us feel like we were purposefully posing or pretending to have a candid moment. It didn’t feel like a photoshoot to us – it felt more like a date or a unique shared experience where we got to make memories together on the Palouse hills. The beauty and quality of her photos speak for themselves – vibrant, thoughtful, and real. It was amazing to see the energy and connection her creative eye caught between me and my partner. Plus, she got all our good angles without needing to ask!”

Fun facts

What do you consider your style to be?

Wild, Earthy and Documentary.

What are your favorite kinds of couples to work with?

If you love hanging your hand out of the car window with the perfect song playing, roaming barefoot, and the smell of a campfire, we're probably going to be a good fit. I'm here for the wild hearted and the bold spirited. In the woods, on the beach, on a mountain or by the river, I'm 100% here to help document your day. From the small details you've hand chosen to the place itself, to those beautiful intimate moments...my part in your day is to document it, so your part can be to experience it.

Do you travel for clients? If so, where?

I'm based out of North Idaho and travel everywhere for my couples. I've been to countless National Parks, all over the Rockies and Pacific Northwest all the way to the Sahara Desert for my couples. I'm always down for an adventure.

Where do you find your design inspiration?

I grew up along the Snake River and the Owyhee's. I was always in nature hiking, exploring, collecting rocks and sprigs of sagebrush. My parents always had National Geographic magazines on the coffee table that I'd flip through and dream of traveling to all of these magical places. As I got older, I started reading Condé Nast Traveller and other travel journals and my passion for storytelling just completely took over. Nature and travel are my biggest inspirations to my work.
