Dandelion Floral

I established Dandelion Floral with a mission to create unique floral art and experiences that stir the soul while being gentle on the Earth. My joy is bringing your inspiration to life – whether it is the vision for your wedding day or learning something new during one of my workshops. I believe floral designs should be natural, timeless, and uniquely you.

I’ve had a garden as long as I can remember, and I love growing my own flowers and food. I’ve worked for over 20 years as a field biologist and professor, and I have seen first-hand the importance of stewardship of the land. I value that stewardship, gardening with a low-impact on the environment and providing habitat for wildlife. After getting married and starting a family, I became even more passionate about growing our own food and supporting the local food economy at the Lander Valley Farmers Market.

What started out as a tiny market garden in 2015 with herbs and sunflowers, quickly expanded into “Dandelion Farm” as my passion (ok, obsession) for flower farming and floral design grew. The name, Dandelion, was my son’s idea, and appeals to me because it represents seeing the beauty and good in things that others see as weeds. Requests for our organically-grown flowers have grown each year, as my services for wedding flowers and workshops have expanded.

In 2018, I created a new brand focused solely on weddings, Aurea Floral Design, but quickly realized that our roots in the Fremont county community as “Dandelions” are solid and strong.  Thus, Dandelion Floral was born in the Fall of 2019, as I decided to become a full-time florist and move into a studio space inside the lovingly restored Lander Mill building in downtown Lander. Sometimes I pinch myself when I turn the key and walk in the studio for a new day of work. Five years ago I would have laughed if you told me I would be a farmer-florist. Now I can’t imagine my life any other way.

When I’m not busy with flowers, you can find me exploring the nearby Wind River Mountains, or curled up with a book (likely sci-fi) at home, with my husband and two sons. A naturalist at heart, I enjoy spending time photographing and identifying wildflowers and insects. Let’s just say I’m not the fastest hiker!
