Crystal Cousin Photo

My name is Crystal Cousin and I am a photographer based in Albuquerque, NM. I moved here from Florida August 2018 to go full time with my photography in the beautiful desert! My husband, Dylan, is my awesome second shooter for weddings and elopements and I could not ask for a better partner for this.

We eloped in Sedona, AZ in October 2018 and it was the most magical day! My sister and her husband were our only guests, (plus our photographers of course) and I would not have had it any other way. Since we made our decision to elope I have been obsessed with the idea and want to help my couples plan and capture their perfect, intimate and adventurous day together.

Whether it is just the two of you, or your closest 20 friends and family, I think photography is so important for whatever kind of day you end up having. Photos are the one thing that you will have for the rest of your lives to look back on your wedding day!

Love Notes

“I have never done a review for anyone or anything before, but I absolutely had to for my wedding photographer Crystal Cousins! She made my experience of getting married seem so MAGICAL and SPECIAL! At a time where it seemed my elopement/small wedding no longer was about me, she reminded me of what marriage truly was about, and reminded me the only 2 people that mattered was me and my hubby (fiance at the time). Something so simple right? Well I needed to be reminded! She was also very accommodating and understanding with our needs. With my hubby being in the Marines, planning ahead was hard! lol Her kindness, support, and positivity impacted me and my hubby so very much! Not only was she an awesome person to work with, but her final pictures were stunning! True artistic talent! Crystal GENUINELY cares about you, and will do everything to give you the best experience and pictures! I am so thankful I found her to take my pictures, and even more thankful that I got to share such an important time with her-a newly made friend. After my husband returns home from deployment and we renew our vows/reception with family I WANT HER THERE to capture the memories!”

“Crystal has an eye for beauty regardless of the weather. We were so worried about the rain we encountered on our way to our shoot with Crystal. Crystal assured us the white quartz colored sky along the striking red rock would be beautiful. My goodness, it was stunning. She truly caught the love my fiancé and I have for each other. The subtle glances, warm embraces, nose nuzzles, and running and playing with pure joy in our hearts. We have never had our photographs taken by a professional. Let me tell you, Crystal is the epitome of professionalism and truly wanting you to feel your best during the shoot. She was so diligent in working with us when we had to reschedule our wedding during the pandemic. I appreciate her check ins with me and her blog that has given me great tips to use towards wedding planning. I recommend her to anyone that is looking to have the love and compassion we have for our partners or spouses captured in time, for us to reflect on and cherish for the rest of our lives.”

“My husband and I have had Crystal take pictures for us 4 times now! We love her so much we keep coming back! She can really do anything, she’s done our maternity, newborn, family, and elopement pictures and they’ve all been absolutely beautiful and worth every penny! Besides her work, she is genuinely such a nice person and makes it a fun experience!”

Fun facts

What do you consider your style to be?

What are your favorite kinds of couples to work with?

Many of my couples are pretty chill and are cool with just going with the flow and I love that. For elopements I always have a timeline to guide us, but couples that are okay with certain things taking longer or shorter than expected, or even adding on something that just popped into one of our heads is the best! Elopements are truly about what the couple wants to do and I love when they truly understand that we can do whatever they want.

What is your favorite part about a wedding?

First looks always get me when couples decide to do them. It is such an intimate and quick moment of relief and happiness between the couple and I love seeing all the different reactions and emotions. Hearing vows is also something that is so special too. I am so honored that sometimes my husband and I are the only people to be there to see and hear such a special moment; often for people who we have never met in person before the day!

Do you travel for clients? If so, where?

Yes! I am honestly willing to go wherever a couple wants to take me. I travel around New Mexico a lot, but other places I love are Moab and Sedona where I eloped! The desert is my favorite, but I am a sucker for some foresty mountains and the PNW is also so dreamy. Take me anywhere!
