joyful moments for real, type-a dog moms
I’m an OG farm girl, mountain transplant completely in love with my husband and being the best dog-mom to our pitties, Jackson and Lila Bean. I drink way too much coffee and (try to) eat carrots instead of carrot cake. My entire outlook on weddings when I married my guy, Jeremy, and realized I had been prioritizing things all wrong.
Yes, the dress, the impeccable invitation suite, the flowers tied with hand-dyed silk ribbon, they’re all important, of course. But after our wedding, I realized the moments and memories I cherished most were those of our family and friends, and the unposed moments of Jeremy and I just loving each other.
I strive to bring my couples peace of mind with a photographer they trust to capture everything that’s important to them, to document the joyful moments they remember and those that they never realized even happened, and to deliver not just photographs, but family heirlooms that will be cherished by those you haven’t even had the chance to love yet. Wedding days are a big deal, and my clients wholeheartedly accept the challenge of making their big day perfectly them in every way.
What do you consider your style to be? My style is one that captures joy and warmth in a wedding day - both in color + tone, and warmth between all the humans you love. I love candid movement, like your new hubby gently reaching up to move a strand of hair from your face, or the way your dress moves as you walk together in the mountain breeze. I'm a hybrid of posed photos and candids, working to start with natural posing (so you know exactly what to do with your hands) and building confidence in yourself and each other so that the candid moments are second nature and you forget anyone in the place has a camera. Though I appreciate a documentary style photography, I know the importance of all the smiling photos, the detail shots through the day, and everything else to make your day magazine print-worthy. Not really that into the dark and moody photos, and the light and airy just isn't for you? Obsessed with those insta-famous candids but need someone to tell you what to do? Don't worry, boo, I've got you.
What are your favorite kinds of couples to work with? My couples have a range of personalities, professions, ages and wedding styles, but they all have a few very important things in common: 1) They love my organization (because they are type-A, like me!) 2) They adore their fur-babies (10 points if its a dog but we don't discriminate, here) 3) They are incredibly intentional with their details. Meaning, they chose a venue that is meaningful to their story, their grandma helps them put on the veil she made for them, and all the little meaningful details are strung out through the day like little life-puzzles. My brides know who and what is most important to them and find huge value in documenting them in a warm, joyful, and authentic style!! And the last things they all have in common: a stellar sense of humor, love of bad-jokes (I have them all) and somehow we all can quote The Office like nobodies business.
Do you travel for clients? If so, where? Absolutely! I am based in Northern Wyoming, but constantly serve ALL of Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska and Colorado every wedding season. Anywhere my type-A organized, dog-loving brides looking to document the day they've been dreaming of roam, I'm there.
What are your favorite activities to do in The Rockies? Aside from photographing my couples in the mountains, of course :) My husband and I love to take our two pups (pitties Jackson and Lila Bean) fishing, and there's no better place to do that than The Rockies! We also love taking road trips to little day hikes to see the different amazing spots in our own back yard and seeing all the incredible wildlife. Jackson likes the moose best, and Lila Bean is a fan of the rabbits!
