Bumble and Blossom

Helping you blossom in all of life’s special moments

My name is Tanaya Black and I am the owner and lead designer behind Bumble and Blossom.  For as long as I can remember I have had a passion for flowers. Some of my fondest childhood memories include going on drives to find wildflowers with my grandpa, and visiting nurseries each spring with my mom and aunt to pick out flowers for their yards.

While pursuing a degree in math education I would find myself dreaming of flowers and reading about the latest wedding trends instead of my textbooks.  However, it wasn’t until I quit my job as a teacher and had children that I decided to start chasing my dreams of becoming a wedding florist.

Bumble and Blossom gets it’s name from my two little “busy bees” (daughters). They have taught me that like a flower, we all have the potential to blossom into our own kind of beautiful.

Fun facts

What do you consider your style to be?

My design style could be described as lush, romantic, garden, and nature inspired.

Where do you find your design inspiration?

I am always inspired by the way that each flower grows and blooms. There is so much beauty to be found in the naturalness of a flower. From wild flowers growing on a mountainside, to immaculate gardens, each flower has it's own beauty to offer and I love to try to capture that in my designs.

What are your favorite kinds of couples to work with?

I love couples who aren't afraid to work with color and use florals to creatively make a statement on their big day. Whether its through the use of a specific flower or an elaborate installation, flowers can help set the stage for the rest of your wedding and even help tell your love story.

What is your favorite part about a wedding?

It seems cliche, but my favorite part that I get to experience is when I hand the bride her bouquet and watch her face light up as she sees her vision come together. Another favorite part (that I don't always get to see) is the bride and groom's first dance. It's as if the world slows down for a minute and it's just the two of them surrounded by their love and those that love them. It's absolutely beautiful!
