Born and raised on Vancouver Island, and now a destination photographer based in Vancouver, BC, Allison has a unique eye for the details as well as the uncanny ability to direct, compose, and style subjects of all skill levels. A childhood fascination with ‘capturing a moment in time’ grew into the passion she has today for creating images with authenticity, that tell a captivating story, and maybe even hold a touch of the magic that first drew her to the medium.

Fun facts
What do you consider your style to be?
I see my work as primarily photojournalistic, capturing real moments as they unfold and I just adore movement in some form or another - but I always bring an editorial eye to the day as well. Couples can look back on their wedding through my work and relive the emotions as well as see all the time and love that went into curating their day displayed artfully. There's a nostalgia to the way I photograph a wedding, I see a frame through my lens and then I see it in the hands of a grandchild pointing to the picture and asking "and who's this?"That is the kind of timelessness I strive for.
What are your favorite kinds of couples to work with?
The couples who are best friends are my favourite. Whether it's an intimate elopement on the beach or a huge bash in the biggest ballroom you could find, that energy permeates throughout the day. Everyone has fun and it's truly a joy to capture.
How did you get started in the wedding industry?
I actually photographed my first wedding at 17 years old with a Canon Rebel! (I was the assistant/second photographer, don't worry)
Do you travel for clients? If so, where?
YES! I love destination weddings - be it a mountaintop here in BC or a villa in Tuscany. Whatever setting suits you best or is part of your story, I will happily follow you there.
