“‘Adam and I met four years ago, and after plenty of persistence (on his part) and perfect timing, our story began. A little over a year ago, we packed up our life in California and moved to Idaho — and the second we visited Stanley, Idaho, we knew that’s where we had to get married. It truly felt like everything beautiful about Idaho wrapped into one place. Our wedding ended up being my Pinterest board come to life… and Adam’s only real request was that there had to be donkeys. Surrounded by mountains, our favorite people, and so much love, it was the most perfect day. Idaho has very quickly become home, and now we’re building a life here on our property in Emmett, and our first baby is on the way,’ says the bride. The couple’s wedding day was everything and more, captured on digital and film. When Kendra reached out to me, I knew it was a wedding I wanted to be a part of. When she told me the vibe was western chic, my first thought was how perfect it would be with my style. I don’t get the opportunity to shoot western-style weddings that allow for chic editorials. Sometimes mixing the two doesn’t seem like it would fit, but with their day, it did. Stanley River Retreats and Cabins hosted the wedding day. It was such an amazing experience because Kendra and Adam’s was the FIRST wedding ever hosted on the property. The property sits right on the river, with beautiful landscapes of the mountains. The morning continued with getting ready, detail shots, and more while stunning florals and planning happened throughout the cabins. Once Kendra was ready, we took her and Adam to a different location close by for their first look and portraits. Something I look for in couples is that they aren’t uncomfortable in front of the camera. Kendra and Adam were that couple for whom everything just flowed. Once the first look and portraits were done, we took them back to the ceremony spot to be married, surrounded by loved ones and God. The rest of the day was filled with laughter, happy crying, dancing, and yes, donkeys. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.”
