Western Wedding Inspiration at Pikes Peak Ranch

December 14, 2023 BY: Bailey

“Pikes Peak Ranch is a new venue under renovation in Woodland Park, and when I saw a snippet of them on Instagram I KNEW I had to get involved with them! I messaged Jack and Mariah (the amazingly kind and super sweet venue owners) and asked if I could tour their venue. They graciously accepted, brought me and my partner/second photographer, Nick out on four wheelers to see their expansive property and we immediately fell in love. I knew then that I wanted to use their iconic backdrop as the ceremony site, and called Molly with Double Dutch Florals to help. We were inspired by earthy tones, free-standing ceremony installs and loose, white flowers. For the reception space, we wanted to focus this shoot on doing a small, intimate elopement (Pikes Peak Ranch is perfect for weddings of ALL SIZES), so we set up a sweetheart table where they ate pizza and cake by the amazing Alyce with Alyce in Flourland. I trust her vision, always, so I asked her to do something white and simple and to go for it. We kept with white, nudes and burnt orange to accentuate the turquoise jewelry and boots, and to go with the landscape. When I found out that Santina and Christian also owned a Harley, it was a done deal. They brought it with them, changed into their “reception attire”, and we got to playing with motion blur and put some loose florals on the bike. All in all, this elevated but simplistic western inspired shoot was one of my favorite ever, and I couldn’t have done it without these amazing vendors!”
