“Back in high school, I jokingly told my best friend (Bailey) I was going to marry into her family so she couldn’t get rid of me. She showed me a picture of her cousins and I pointed to Blaine and said, “he’s cute.” I friend requested him on Facebook because that’s where all millennial love stories start, but nothing ever came of my crush. Until 6 years later. I see a follow request from Blaine on Instagram. It was weird timing, I had semi-recently became single, and was absolutely convinced Bailey told her cousin. However, that was not the case. Bailey had not told him, he just happen to follow me at this opportune time. “Shoot your shot,” advised Bailey. So I did. I liked his picture on Instagram because that’s obviously the best way to capture someone’s attention. But then, guess what happened? He messaged me. We started talking and he soon mentioned the idea of going on a date sometime during the holidays when we would both be back in our hometown, since he was living in Colorado and I was in Dallas. Soon our first date arrived and I immediately knew he was “the one.” Our love story grew quickly and rapidly. I had never experienced anything like this before. I soon packed up all my things and moved to Colorado to be with him. Just in time to quarantine. And the rest is history!”
