Timeless Military Wedding in Vail

July 4, 2023 BY: Bailey
“We met in a modern way in the world of social media and technology but we have a love story as old as time. As Katie is an elementary school teacher we had our first date at an old elementary school that was converted into a brewery called Ivywild. Things obviously went well as we had a second date, a hike at the Colorado Springs Garden of the Gods. We quickly realized that time would move rapidly before he had to leave for Columbus, Mississippi to complete UPT (Undergraduate Pilot Training). We both took the dive into a long distance relationship full of road trips, a four-legged fur baby and a plethora of airport hellos and goodbyes. When Ryan proposed our story came full circle when Ryan and our pup Guinness proposed at the exact spot we had our second date in Garden of the Gods. As so many other amazing couples there’s always one in the pair that has dreamed and planned their wedding years before they actually have a ring! I knew that I had no interest in hiring a wedding planner as I knew my vision and was passionate in making it become a reality. After moving to California to be with my fiancé who is stationed at Travis as a C-17 pilot, I began to plan our Colorado wedding from a distance. Our vision was to bring the classic and timeless elements to life while weaving in a few military traditions.”
