Timeless and Sweet Summer Wedding

April 10, 2023 BY: Bailey

“By our wedding day, we’d been together for 10 years and 51 weeks. We took our time adventuring, travelling, moving cities and changing careers, but when Malachi popped the question, we knew we didn’t want to wait another 10 years to officially seal the deal. We got engaged in January 2021 and planned for a summer 2022 wedding. We quickly realized that 2022 was slated to be the busiest year for weddings since the 1980’s; we were thrilled and honoured to work with some of the top professionals and artists in the Alberta wedding industry. Our day wouldn’t have come together as beautifully if it wasn’t for them: certainly experienced Albertan hospitality! Shortly before our wedding, we experienced a tough loss, saying goodbye to a dear loved one 4 days before our wedding. We were able to appreciate the day that much more, remembering to be present and grateful for the love of our friends and family that surrounded us on our wedding day and how lucky we are in this life. We truly lived through some of life’s pillars that week: celebration, love, loss, family and dear friendship. The weather was beautiful and sunny the day before and after our wedding day, but as fate would have it, it poured for the majority of our day! We embraced the rain (we now call Vancouver home, so we are no strangers to rain) and cooler weather, but as we said our vows, the sun peeked out from behind the clouds making that moment all the more memorable – perhaps a small hello from our recently departed loved one.”
