Sophisticated and Elegant Wedding at a Colorado Springs Hotel

November 14, 2024 BY: Amy

“Tri and I met in the summer of 2019. We both work at Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. I had switched one of my shifts one week for family coming in. That night Tri and I both floated down to Cardiac Stepdown. Honestly, I was not having the best night, about half way through the shift Tri came up and sparked up a conversation. I am sure he could tell I needed someone to talk to. We started talking about Game of Thrones of all things and carried on a conversation throughout the night. It wasn’t until weeks later at work that we picked our conversation back up, and continued talking the duration of the night once again. Throughout the course of that summer Tri and I built a friendship. We continued talking through Skype at work, snapchat, and then eventually (and finally) texting. We were open and honest with each other from the beginning, neither one of us felt the need to pretend to be someone else. Finally, after one night at work Tri asked if I wanted to go to breakfast after we got off. I was taken aback that he actually wanted to spend time with me, but am glad he did so that we could get to where we are today. Who would have known that one breakfast after work, would lead to the two of us married?! Our Wedding date, August 16th, was chosen for a very specific reason. Tri was blessed to have been born by his mother Kim-Nga on this very day. Thirty years later on August 16th, 2013, after holding her hand all night, Tri woke up, and watched her take her last breath. Since then, August 16th has been a day that he has chosen to skip over, he would always schedule himself to work, and became a day he avoided talking about. As the two of us approach on almost five years together there have been events, places, and people that have facilitated our paths crossing and are responsible for us being together. We’d like to believe maybe out there somewhere she had a hand in all of this. Our aim was to bring life back to this day. We want August 16th to not only be a day of celebrating one of the most amazing persons Tri has had the privilege to know, but to also celebrate the love we have for one another. Tri and I firmly believe she would be our biggest cheerleader if she were here with us today.”
