Romantic Summer Beach Wedding in BC

“Funnily enough, Dylan and I are both from small rural Alberta towns, approximately 30 minutes from each other. However, it wasn’t until I came to the island in 2013 to visit a friend that I met Dylan! He was roommates with one of my friends from my home town and they went to golf academy school in Qualicum Beach together, and the rest is history! Dylan and I got engaged on December 18, 2021 on the beach at Pacific Sands Resort in Tofino! Tofino is one of our favorite places on earth, and it was our first time visiting there during the storm and off season. We both were taken back by how quiet and sleepy the town could be when not buzzing with tourists. We took our pup up for the weekend with us and enjoyed time in the sauna, eating yummy food, and just being cozy together. It was typical Tofino mist and rain leading up to about two minutes before the proposal. Dylan convinced me to endure the rain and go for a walk on the beach. Magically the skies opened up and the sun came out just as he got down on one knee. It was a moment that was simply meant to be! When tackling the wedding planning I really tried to approach it with the mindset of simpler, the better! Without compromising on the details that were really important to us. I leaned on advice and recommendations from friends and family, but ultimately the amazing team of planners at Rare Earth were my angels throughout the entire process! They made it all so seamless and as stress free as possible for me. I really looked to them for guidance during those stressful planning months as they always ensured me I was on the right track and had nothing to worry about. Everything truly came together exactly how we’d imagined it and it was the best day of our lives! My advice, as I’m sure everyone says is to slow down and enjoy it! The day really does go by in a flash, and I think taking some time to stop during the busy moments and just take it all in, is so important. Also, don’t sweat the small stuff! Something I wish I had told myself a few times! At the end of the day, little things happens but I promise you nobody but you will notice so just try to find the humor in all things. Lastly, do whatever makes you happy! It is your day, so try to ensure that when you look back on it, you did it exactly how you wanted. Honestly the biggest advice I could ever pass on, is have the small wedding! I loved the intimacy and closeness it brought between us and our loved ones.”
