Romantic Mountain Wedding in Beaver Creek

“We met at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and dated throughout our 20’s. From Athens, Georgia to New York City for the last six years, our relationship has been adventurous and resilient. Just shy of the 10 year dating mark, Patrick proposed in Central Park surrounded by our family and friends in the city. We had both always dreamed of a wedding in the mountains where my family lives and we visit so often. It was important to both of us that our wedding provided an authentic Colorado experience for our guests traveling a long way to celebrate. Saddleridge was such an easy and quick decision – the unique details, charming decor, and rich history were something we loved. A few of our favorite elements of the venue were the old bar, mismatched chairs, floral wallpaper and juke box. We wanted our ceremony to be outside surrounded by the stunning views, mountain air, and the little garden in the back. At the start of the ceremony during vows, there was a sun shower, but as we were pronounced husband and wife, the clouds parted and a stream of light poked through from the aspens directly above us (or so our guests claim). This ended up being one of my favorite parts of the day along with our first look at the top of one of the mountains in Beaver Creek where we were solely surrounded by aspens and expansive views. Our advice for other couples is not necessarily unique but advice we followed – stay authentic to yourself with choices about the wedding day so that you are left with YOUR ideal day and can just relax and celebrate. Don’t be afraid to break the rules, push norms and make it your own. Secondly, we made sure to really vet and invest a huge portion of our budget in very talented vendors so we were able to step back and let the experts do their work! Patrick and I both felt true peace and a sense of calm on the day of which was truly all we could have asked for!”
