“Over eight years ago, Leslie and Darren sat side by side in a university club for the first time. Not long after, they came to realize they shared a number of interests including travel, photography, trying new restaurants or recipes, running, and (most importantly) ice cream. While their proposal happened on a warm sunny day with the help of a few friends and a faux-portfolio shoot staged by one of their besties, we got out in late May for their engagement session. In true Pacific Northwest fashion, even when the forecast changed to rain, they couldn’t be deterred from the original engagement shoot plans. From a playful stroll down one of Stanley Park’s beaches and searching for crabs among the rocks to some of their favourite spots in downtown Vancouver. To close it out, we made our way to the deservedly popular Earnest Ice Cream for a cone for Darren and Leslie to share. With the flavours rotating out pretty regularly it’s hard to have a default order but this photographers current scoops of choice are the London Fog and the Whiskey Hazelnut! A perfect date spot no matter the season, if you ask us.”
