“We wanted our wedding weekend to feel warm, timeless, and full of thoughtful moments that reflected who we are. After welcoming our guests with a western-inspired celebration at a ranch, our wedding day unfolded as a more classic and refined affair, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the CO mountains. We wanted our loved ones to feel immersed in the landscape, so we intentionally chose colors that blended with the Rockies in early fall. Every decision was made with intention and guest experience in mind, and every touchpoint was designed to tell a piece of our story. We set the tone for our wedding with a handmade toile pattern in our invitation suite, including symbols of our story and the life we’re building together. We filled a room at our venue with generations of family photos and heirloom antiques to mirror the look of our home. Our guestbook featured national park postcards so we could carry them along future adventures and remind guests of these memories for years to come. As people who don’t love being the center of attention, we focused on celebrating the love that filled the room rather than just our own. During dinner, we surprised our married guests by playing their first dance songs. This became one of our favorite moments, watching generations fill the dance floor with laughter and tears, celebrating everything from one to 65 years of marriage. Children found joy in custom coloring books that shared our love story through their eyes, and guests celebrating engagements, birthdays, and anniversaries received personalized cookies. Everywhere you turned, there was something to experience, something to connect you to the heart of the day. Looking back, what made the day truly special was the intention and emotion woven into every moment, combined with the aesthetics. It felt like hosting a big family dinner. My best advice to couples is to focus on storytelling over trends and connection over perfection. The most beautiful weddings aren’t about perfection or excess; they’re about meaning. When you fill your day with pieces of your story, your guests don’t just attend, they feel part of it, and that’s what leaves a lasting memory. From western details, to dreamy tablescapes, and the rolling peaks of Vail as our ceremony background, we had a stunning mountainside wedding day with memories that will last a lifetime for not just our guests, but us too.”
