“Jack played baseball at Emporia State in Kansas. After their season ended in the DII NCAA tournament, he returned to Omaha and planned to watch a friend play in the big 10 tournament at Charles Schwab Field Omaha the night of his return. Before doing anything else, Jack decided to swing by Lululemon because there was no shopping in Emporia! Jack ran into a good friend from college, who asked him about his plans for the night. When Jack mentioned seeing a baseball game, his friend at Lululemon invited herself to the game and said she would bring a friend. That friend ended up being Alexa. Alexa was home for the summer and wanted to stop in Lululemon before her shift there as she was working two jobs that summer. She just so happened to go in about 20 minutes after Jack left and ran into her coworker, who was Jack’s good friend from college. That friend invited Alexa to a baseball game that night, which she agreed to as her last event before starting working all summer as a full-time educator at Lululemon and as an intern at Investors Realty. Jack went to the game with a few friends and Alexa came with their mutual friend. From the time they sat down, we had so much in common, Alexa went to Ole Miss and Jack was recruited to play baseball at Ole Miss. Alexa was planning on partaking in the Aksarben Ball, which Jack participated in the year before. Eventually we left the game a bit early to see the mutual friend’s house. After leaving, Jack asked the mutual friend for Alexa’s number and the friend said, ‘no’. So, Jack asked Alexa to dinner via an Instagram DM. Alexa needed to consult her mother to see if she should go on this date, to which she was very encouraging. They then had dinner at the Flatiron, went back to Jack’s parents house, and the first question Jack’s mom asked Alexa was, ‘are you Bill Barnhart’s daughter?’ They then chatted for about an hour and the rest is history! Alexa and I are both from Omaha, Nebraska originally. I moved to Denver in 2015 during the summer for summer baseball and full-time in 2018 for law school, Alexa moved out in 2020 during the middle of the pandemic to live with me. Alexa graduated and obtained her real-estate license. Some of our good friends moved to Denver that same summer and we have been close ever since.”
