“Tyler and I met online in late 2019 and went on a couple of dates, but Tyler decided he wanted to go separate directions in December of that year (i.e., he ghosted me on Christmas). Flash forward to October 2020: Tyler reached back out via a drunken Snapchat at 2am, and I ended up giving him a second chance. We began dating in November of 2020, and finally, after several years, we got engaged in January 2024, in the Highlands of Scotland! We are from Oklahoma, but have a huge love for the mountains, so after getting engaged in Scotland, we knew we wanted a mountain wedding and had no trouble settling on a location in Colorado. We chose Windy Point Campground in Silverthorne because of the beautiful views of the mountains and its lakeside pavilion. Most of our guests hadn’t been to Colorado before, so we wanted our wedding to be in a location that really showed off its beauty. We chose a sunset pastel color palette, paired with charcoal grey suits for the men and soft pink dresses for the ladies. Our florals, designed by Kira at Something Styled Co., embodied everything I hoped for—soft colors with a wildflower feel that went perfectly with the mountain backdrop. Our stationery by Eros Studios featured a custom watercolor postcard RSVP of Lake Dillon that gave our guests something to keep. Tyler built a custom seating chart shaped like mountains, and we hung luggage tag party favors from it for our guests since everyone came from Oklahoma. I lost my mom in January 2024, just days before Tyler proposed (she did give her permission to him), so I wanted to honor her in some way at our wedding because she had been dreaming of this day since I was little. We displayed her wedding dress along with a chair and a linen that had a dedication to her. I felt her presence there the whole day. My grandma surprised me with a letter my mom had written to me before her passing, titled “To My Beautiful Daughter on Her Wedding Day,” and that felt very special. Our best friend Reagan was our officiant and my maid of honor, which meant so much to us. Our wedding day was absolutely beautiful and truly felt like us.”
