“Gayle and David met on September 23, 2016 in Boston at a house party of a mutual friend. It was love at first sight for Gayle. David took a bit longer to warm up, but essentially from that moment they were together. Exactly seven years later on September 23, 2023, they got married! David was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. Sun Valley has always been a special place for David and his family. Over the years, Sun Valley also became a very special place in Gayle and David’s relationship – starting with when they first said, ‘I love you’ during a weekend trip there just outside of Sun Valley at Kirkham Hot Springs. When it came time to decide on a wedding location, Sun Valley was a no brainer. David and Gayle felt strongly about bringing everyone together to tie the knot in a place filled with special memories they had built together and all of their favorite things (hiking, skiing, beautiful outdoors landscapes, incredible food, and plenty of opportunities to relax). Gayle also knew how core Idaho was to David and his identity. She had never met someone more proud of where he came from. The state is so pivotal to who he is and how he carries himself. It is a remote place and it felt like this is the one time we could get everyone out there to see what it is all about. 90% of our guests had never been to Idaho so it was so epic to see their reactions – most had no idea how gorgeous the area was and just think potatoes. Unique tidbits – 1) our escort board. David and I are SUPER avid travelers. We are almost constantly traveling and have been to many countries together and even more states (we did a two year roadtrip where we switched up locals every week). We had custom water color paintings done of our favorite places. These were laid out on the board. Each table was a place. Every guest had a luggage tag with their name on it hanging below the water color of the place / table they were going to / sitting at. It was stunning! 2) Ford Bronco – David’s dad has a 1967 perfect condition mint green Ford Bronco. We used this as our getaway car. Driving off into the night sky, thick of stars in that car without the top on was truly incredible! We also took lots of cool photos there before the wedding started. 3) Our floral arch – truly one of my favorite pieces of the day. The arch was absolutely stunning, especially with the background and lighting!”
