“Cam and I went to Montana to spend some time with my family at our lake house around the 4th of July. During this time (unbeknownst to me) Cameron went on a little drive with my parents and asked for their blessing to marry me. We had planned to attend a concert in Bozeman, Montana (Kenny Chesney – no shoes nation baby!) and meet up with one of my friends (Sara) there before driving back to Boise together. We planned on going through Yellowstone and camping near the Grand Tetons. Cam and I both have visited the Tetons and it is one of our favorite places to go. Cameron had the ring since April and the only person he told was Sara who was in on the surprise during this trip. We spent a long day driving and stopping through Yellowstone. We planned to go to dinner in the town of Jackson so we set up camp and got dressed to go into town. Before we turned to head towards Jackson my friend Sara asked if we could stop at a pretty pullout the opposite direction and take some pictures of the Tetons before it got dark. Cameron without hesitation said ‘Let’s do it’ and started driving us that way. (This was when I started feeling suspicious because we were all hungry and Cam would definitely rather go eat than go take some more pictures.) Once we got there Cam offered to take some pictures of me and Sara and after she said “let me take some of you two!” We posed for a few pictures and that’s when I felt Cam get a little shaky and nervous. He started telling me how much he loves me and wants to spend the rest of his life with me. He took a knee and asked if I would marry him. Through a few tears I obviously said YES! We shared the news with close friends and family and were overjoyed with the amount of love and support we received. We all ate dinner together and had some celebratory drinks before we went back to our campsite and had a fire where Cam and Sara revealed their secret plan that they had been keeping from me since April. It was such a surreal and exciting time. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way and will always remember 7/10/22. We are getting married in the fall on 9/23/23 in the last best place!”
