Picturesque and Adventurous Moab Elopement

“We both went to West Virginia University, we met through friends. I didn’t really give him the time of day, but eventually he wore me down! I slowly began moving my stuff into his apartment the more I stayed there, until he was basically forced to date me! And the rest is history As for the proposal, there was never exactly a get on the knee and ask moment. After Bobby graduated basic training we both knew we wanted to get married, so it has just been a matter of time of figuring things out and making it happen. Not traditional, but it works! Originally we were just going to go to the courthouse. But then at a wedding a girl at our table talked about doing an elopement trip. So that night I started researching places and somehow stumbled across the Teton and the Arches and found Jocilyn’s website, and after we talked with her it just felt right in my heart that Moab is the perfect place. It is edgy, unique, and stunning which is exactly what I want. As for Bobby he just needs to know when and where to show up, and to make sure half of the cake is his perfected flavor.”

– Kate, the bride

“Kate and Bobby’s day was so fun. Madison and I showed up to their hotel to capture the final touches of Kate and Bobby getting ready. We photographed the details while Aubri finished Kate’s hair and makeup. We snapped some candids as they got ready before heading into Arches National Park for their first look and ceremony. The ceremony took place at Sand Dune Arch and Ruth Lowe performed the ceremony. She is a local Moab resident and so personable with her couples, this is why I recommend her the most. Kate & Bobby’s vows were so sweet and the ceremony was such a joyous celebration of their love. After we signed the marriage license, we took off to explore the park and take photos. Kate and Bobby hadn’t been to Utah before and the views were just so unique and cool. It was so fun to hike around the red rocks. We ended the evening at Dead Horse State Park to enjoy the sunset. Madison and I surprised Kate and Bobby with playing Kate’s favorite song “Best Friend” by Tim McGraw that prompted them to share their first dance and became a really sweet moment. Then we set up a little picnic for them to eat cake and pop champagne. It was the perfect ending to an amazing day.”
